Bimetal Rivets
Brife
Bimetal rivet is the two-multilayer electrical contacts. It is cold-pressed from two materials. It has various shapes and can be surface treated with gold plating, etc. Electrical contacts broadly refer to the electrical and electronic electrical opening and closing, the intersection of separation and contact with each other. Electrical contacts are widely used in the production of electrical and electronic appliances.
Main materials
Ag/Cu, AgNi/Cu, AgSnO₂In₂O₃/Cu, AgSnO₂/Cu, AgCdO/Cu, Gold Plated.
Dimensional Ranges
● PAg FAg
General Description
Pure silver and fine grain silver (FAg) possess very high electrical and thermal conductivity, low and stable contact resistance, and good workability. For silver resistance to arc erosion and contact welding are limited, mechanical strength is low, Due to the small quantity of nickel in the fine grain silver, resistance to arc erosion and mechanical strength are higher than that of silver.
Application Scope
Widely used in low current devices, such as relays, timers, auxiliary switches for household appliances, control switches, etc.
Material Properties
Material | Density | Resistivity | Vickers Hardness |
g/cm3 | μΩ·cm | HV0.3 | |
Ag | 10.48 | 1.75 | 40 ~ 70 |
FAg | 10.47 | 1.80 | 80 ~ 100 |
● AgNi
General Description
AgNi material have higher resistance to arc erosion and contact welding than that of Ag or FAg. Both properties are improved with increasing Ni content. All AgNi materials show good workability and are easy to weld to contact supports. Low tendency towards material transfer in DC applications. AgNi materials are environment-protective mate
Application Scope
AgNi contact materials find a wide range of application in low voltage switching devices. They are used in relays, small contactors, light switches, temperature controllers as well as in protective switches.

Material | Density | Resistivity | Vickers Hardness |
g/cm3 | μΩ·cm | HV0.3 | |
AgNi(10) | 10.30 | 1.90 | 90 ~ 105 |
AgNi(15) | 10.20 | 2.00 | 90 ~ 105 |
AgNi(20) | 10.10 | 2.10 | 75 ~ 90 |
● AgSnO2 AgSnO2In2O3
General Description
AgSnO2 and AgSnO2In2O3 are eco-friendly electrical contact materials. They have good performances in anti-erosion and anti-welding properties, and have good anti-material transfer property in DC switching circuit.
Application Scope
Widely used in various kinds of contactors , relays and switches, etc.

Material | Density | Resistivity | Vickers Hardness |
g/cm3 | μΩ·cm | HV0.3 | |
AgSnO2(10) | 9.85 | 2.15 | 80 ~ 90 |
AgSnO2(8)In2O3(4) | 9.80 | 2.25 | 90 ~ 100 |
● AgCdO
General Description
AgCdO contacts belong to the group of the most widely used ones on the field of low voltage electric apparatus. They combine a satisfactory resistance against contact welding with a good arc erosion resistance and a fairly low contact resistance over its complete service life.
Application Scope
Mainly used in almost every type of low voltage switching devices. They are typically used in microswitches, relays, light switches, contactors, switches for household appliances, some types of protective switches.
Material Properties
Material | Density | Resistivity | Vickers Hardness |
g/cm3 | μΩ·cm | HV0.3 | |
AgCdO(10) | 10.15 | 2.00 | 80 ~ 90 |
AgCdO(15) | 10.00 | 2.20 | 85 ~ 95 |
● Cu
General Description
The conductivity of copper only second to silver and superior to all other metals, so it was used as benchmarks for the conductive properties of the material. Not only copper has excellent electrical conductivity, but also high melting point (1083 ℃), good mechanical properties, corrosion resistance, reliable for working , long life for using , it becomes the most widely used conductive material.
Application Scope
Copper can be widely use in switches, relays, thermostats, contactors, disconnector, controllers, timers and other low-voltage apparatus.
